Innovative and high-growth entrepreneurship (Group B)

Open to everyone virtual Design and delivery Inclusive entrepreneurship Networks Skills and mindsets

What is the issue ?

Young entrepreneurs are highly motivated by innovation as a reason for pursuing entrepreneurship and tend to innovate at higher rates than the overall adult population. As innovation is a key driver of economic and social change as well as job creation, it is important that public policy continue to promote and support innovation among young entrepreneurs, as they are leading the digital and green transitions and tackling the social and environmental challenges facing the world today. Many countries have implemented policy actions designed to increase innovation rates and the growth potential of businesses operated by youth entrepreneurs, including offering management training, facilitating access to finance and strengthening networks. This workshop will explore how youth entrepreneurship policies can support further young people in innovating and scaling their businesses, untapping their economic and social potential.

About

This workshop is the second workshop in a series of six thematic workshops that will occur over the next three years as part of the YEPA initiative. The 3-hour online workshop will explore how inclusive entrepreneurship policies can support innovative and high-growth entrepreneurship among young entrepreneurs. The workshop will feature a panel discussion with young entrepreneurs who will speak to their own experiences in starting their entrepreneurship activities. It will also include case study presentations by YEPA participants on innovative networks and the importance of collaboration for supporting innovative and high-growth potential young entrepreneurs as well as a case study on incubation and acceleration. There will also be time to raise questions, debate key issues and share your knowledge and expertise, notably during an interactive breakout session. The workshops vary slightly across the different country groups as co-hosts have identified different priority areas and case studies for the workshops.
